HPSD · Hazardous Product Storage Database

National register of underground and aboveground storage tanks — verified reporting, spill monitoring and licensing in one place.
South South pilot zone

One national map. Every tank accounted for.

Operators self-report through the field portal. State inspectors verify against site visits. Only confirmed records reach the public map — click any state to see what's tracked there, the same navigation model as North Carolina's public UST registry.

Process

How a record becomes public

01

Report

Tank owner or licensed tester submits a test result, tank ID and site coordinates through the field app.

02

Verify

State inspector cross-checks the submission against a physical visit or prior records. Discrepancies are queried.

03

Publish

Verified records are pushed to the public map. Owners and testers see their status update in real time.

04

License & penalise

Compliant testers keep their state permit. Forged or missed reports trigger automatic penalty workflows.
